who we are

The Canadian Avalanche Foundation / Fondation Canadienne des Avalanches is a federally registered charity (#86900 0349 RR0001) formed to provide a tax-deductible fundraising mechanism for the support of public avalanche safety initiatives.

The Charity was formed to:

• Raise and administer funds in support of public avalanche information
• Support education in public avalanche awareness and safety
• Support programs that will prevent or minimize avalanche risk to the public
• Support research projects that facilitate public avalanche safety
