An Introduction to Sledding Safely in the Backcountry

If you are a snowmobiler who ventures into avalanche terrain, consider signing up for an Avalanche Skills Training course. You will find a list of providers on our website here. If you would like an introduction to sledding safely in the backcountry, come out to one of the CAC-sponsored two-hour safety seminars listed beow, Avalanche Awareness Days, Backcountry Avalanche Workshops or presentations at the western Canada snowmobile tradeshows.

Boulder Mountain Avalanche Awareness Days
Revelstoke
January 23, 2010  8am-noon
The CAC, Revelstoke Snowmobile Club and the Snowmobile Revelstoke Society invite you to join us on Boulder Mountain for a  huge mock rescue. Have fun, eat some burgers while learning some tips to keep you safe and self rescue techniques. Live Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog (CARDA) demonstration.  Backcountry Avalanche Workshops 2009-2010
We hosted 6 venues for the Fall of 2009. We are already planning our venues and schedule for the Fall of 2010. Check back in September 2010 for details.
