Banff, AB: Avalanche Awareness Days at the Cave and Basin, Jan. 18-19, 2014
What:
Come out to the Cave and Basin and meet Parks Canada's avalanche pros and get tips on being safe in the backcountry in winter. Watch dramatic footage of avalanches. Learn how an avalanche transceiver works. See dog rescue team Cazz and Mike in action and hear stories of real avalanche rescues.

Fernie, BC: Avalanche Awareness Days at Fernie Alpine Resort, Jan. 18, 2014
What: Avalanche Awareness Days at Fernie Alpine Resort. Activities include: transceiver educations and search practice area, snow pit profile, avalanche trivia, silent and live auction to raise funds for the CAC and more!

Lake Louise, AB: Staying Alive: An Avalanche Awareness Night with Parks Canada, Jan. 16, 2014
What: Long time Bow Valley local Kevin Hjertaas will be talking about the decisions and planning that went into the first descent of the North face of Mt. Clemenceau in May 2012. Additionally, there will be speakers from Parks Canada, Lake Louise Snow Safety and segments from the new Sherpas film: Into the Mind.

What: Throttle Decisions video on the big screens at the Gigglin'Grizzly Pub. Saturday's events will be on Lucille Mountain at the safety cabin with transceiver exercises at the Beacon Park. Companion Rescue practice and and info booth at the cabin.

: Hosted by CAPOW and Salomon come out for a morning of transceiver searches, scavenger hunt and fun looking into the snow pack. Spend the afternoon freeskiing with members of the Salomon pro team. Apres ski event at the outdoor plaza between the Rockford and Mackenzie Common with speakers, booths, prizes and more. FREE!
8:30 - 10 am: Avalanche gear training at the top of the gondola
10 am: Freeskiing and decision making with the pros
12:30 pm: Scavenger hunt for kids, meets at the warming hut at the top of the Stoke chair
