From Intro to Mastery

Nearly 5000 2-day Avalanche Skills Training courses are delivered in Canada each year by licenced AST providers. The AST program provides benchmarks for instructors and oversees minimum qualifications for delivering courses. This allows consumers to have high confidence in the product they receive.

Avalanche Skills Training (AST) Program
Presented by Mountain Equipment Co-op
Avalanche Skills Training Level 1 and 2 are delivered in a collaborative effort between the CAC and a wide spectrum of private-enterprise course providers, individuals or businesses that satisfy the requirements of the AST provider agreement. The CAC develops and maintains AST course materials and promotes avalanche education at all levels.

Backcountry Avalanche Workshops
Presented by Columbia Brewery
Provides amateur backcountry winter recreationists with an early season avalanche safety primer. The BAW is a progressive and unique forum for the sharing of ideas and developments in avalanche safety techniques and products. Workshops are open to skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers and sledders alike who are keen on better managing their risks in avalanche terrain.

Online Avalanche Course
Presented by RECCO
Avalanche First Response Training Program, a course developed by the Canadian Avalanche Association in cooperation with several organizations under the sponsorship of the National Search and Rescue Secretariat Canada.
