ARC’TERYX was founded in Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1991, where it maintains its Worldwide Head Office, design studios, and main manufacturing facilities.

Driven by innovation, ARC'TERYX was founded to build better gear. We didn’t just focus on incremental advancements, but on radically improving the status quo. We began with climbing harnesses and then proceeded to tackle packs and apparel with the same single-minded obsession for creating the lightest, best performing, and highest quality products available. To realize our vision we’ve created groundbreaking new construction technology, developed paradigm-shifting designs and harnessed major fabric technology developments. ARC'TERYX is also a Supporting Sponsor of the CAC.

Backcountry Access

Backcountry Access (BCA) is a leading manufacturer of snow safety equipment, including Tracker avalanche beacons, shovels, probes, packs, snow study kits, and Float avalanche airbags. Our mission is to save lives, not just pump products. As a leader in our industry, we need to be responsible about sending people into the backcountry. They need to be equipped not just with products, but with education. That’s why we’ve invested so much in research and education.

When we talk about “fresh tracks” and “fresh ideas,” we’re not just talking about skiing powder and developing products. We’re talking about our whole approach to snow safety, rooted in thorough research and placed in proper context with even more important things like education and knowledge.

G3

In 1995 G3's founder, Oliver Steffen, developed his first product. He followed one fundamental rule: G3 gear must be true "guide gear". That product was an innovative, and dependable avalanche probe that set a new standard for function and reliability in the backcountry ski market. Since then, G3's team has steadily raised the bar for backcountry gear, with innovations including the TARGA telemark binding, High Performance Climbing Skins, AviTECH shovel, and Bonesaw. Each of these products has been developed and tested for guides and avalanche professionals; essentials in the professional's kit that must be strong, light, reliable, and functional. G3's newest product innovation is one inspired by many years of combining skiing experience and product design. After two full years of intensive market research, development, and testing, G3 Skis are now available. G3 is also a Supporting Sponsor of the CAC.

RECCO

RECCO® is an avalanche rescue system utilized by more than 600 rescue organizations worldwide to assist in the efficient location of burials. RECCO technology enables rapid directional pinpointing of a victim’s precise location using harmonic radar. The two-part system consists of a RECCO® detector used by organized rescue groups, and RECCO® reflectors that are integrated into apparel, helmets, protection gear or boots. The reflector is permanently affixed, requires no training for use and needs no batteries to function.

Although similar in search procedure to transceivers, the RECCO system is not intended for self-rescue nor is it an alternative to transceiver use in the backcountry. Complementary in function, the system is an additional tool that does not interfere with other rescue methods such as avalanche dogs, transceiver searches or probe lines. The RECCO system facilitates a faster organized search for rescuers and provides skiers and snowboarders with one more chance to be found in time.
